Weslaco police investigating after seeking help to identify toddler
The Weslaco Police Department is investigating after seeking public help to identify a toddler.
According to their social media page, the department was trying to identify a 2-year-old female toddler after she was found by park goers around 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the area of Mayor Pablo G. Pena Park.
The toddler was later released to Child Protective Services.
Police said relatives came forward to identify the toddler Sunday morning after the initial social media post.
An investigation is underway to determine if any criminal negligence was involved, police said.
