Harlingen woman charged with assault on public servant, aggravated assault
One woman has been charged in connection with an incident that occurred in Harlingen on Sunday afternoon.
Teresa Aguilera Flores, 44, of Harlingen, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a public servant.
According to a report, officers were called out to the 700 block of W. Filmore Ave. in reference to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
When officers arrived, according to the report, officers spoke with a woman who stated that she was lured into a vacant building where police said Flores struck the woman with a metal pipe.
Police added that the victim was able to get away and call for help.
Authorities said an investigation by the Harlingen Police Major Crimes Unit led to the location of Flores in the 500 block of W. Harrison where she was placed under arrest.
The report stated that while Flores was being arrested, Flores kicked the arresting officer on his left knee.
Bond for Flores has been set at $50,000 total.
