You can now pay for parking in McAllen on your phone.

The city of McAllen on Friday announced a new partnership with ParkMobile, a provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in the U.S., that will allow drivers to pay for parking at 1,529 on-street spaces throughout the city.

“We are excited to be able to provide this service to our downtown patrons,” Mario Delgado, director Metro McAllen, stated in a news release. “I have personally used this app in another city before and it is convenient and effective, and it makes parking that much easier.”

After setting up an account, customers can immediately begin using the app with their registered mobile device, according to the news release.

Users can view, update and add time for their parking spot.

The ParkMobile app is free and available for download for iPhone and Android.
