The Federal Emergency Management Agency is urging Texas to remain indoors and in air conditioning through Sunday after the National Weather Service issues extreme heat warnings for some areas.

Texans in affected areas are also being asked to drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun, check up on relatives and neighbors--particularly those who are elderly or have a disability.

Hurricane Harvey survivors living in FEMA-provided housing units should immediately call the Maintenance Switchboard Call Center, 877-503-6053, if they experience issues with their air-conditioning or other equipment in their unit.
