Police seize over 70 lbs of meth in Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, Texas (WOAI) - Round Rock Police Department shared a picture of a meth bust conducted last Saturday.

Officer Austin Long seized 71 lbs. of meth from an Alabama man's vehicle after initiating a traffic stop while he was driving north in the 2000 block on N IH 35.

According to police, a K-9 alerted officers before they found the drugs inside a modified gas tank with a false compartment.

The street value of the meth seized is nearly $2 million.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Nathan Leon Fields, 36, was arrested and booked into the Williamson County Jail and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.

His bond was set at $70,000.
