Texas Republican Will Hurd said he would vote for President Donald Trump in 2020 over his friend Beto O'Rourke.

That is if O'Rourke should decide to run and win the democratic party's nomination.

"My plan is to vote for the republican nominee," Hurd said.

CNN's Jake Tapper pressed Hurd again, asking the congressman if he'd for Trump over O'Rourke.

"It's most likely that Donald Trump is the is the likely candidate," Hurd said.

Hurd is the only Republican in the House of Representatives to represent a district in Texas along the southern border. He has also been critical of Trump, including the president's proposal for a border wall.
