Texas Tech University has reportedly fired head football coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Kingsbury, 39, spent six years with Texas Tech, finishing with a 35-40 overall record and 19-35 mark in the Big 12. Under Kingsbury, the Red Raiders had three consecutive losing seasons.

Texas Tech began this season 5-2, but ended the year with five straight losses. The Red Raiders' 35-24 loss to Baylor Saturday prevented the program from securing bowl eligibility.
