UTRGV Vaqueros Unveil New Athletic Logos For Consent

It's a brighter orange than has seen before in the Rio Grande Valley, and if the UT Board of Regents approves, that shade will come to represent the newly formed UT-RGV athletic department. The logos "UTRGV", "RGV", Vaqueros", and "Rio Grande Valley", along with a navy blue-clad rider on a similarly-colored horse with green highlights and trim makes up the new design of the Vaqueros mascot.

The UT system hired Rickabaugh Graphics out of Ohio to come up with new logos and a new identity for the new UT-Rio Grande Valley athletic program. Rickabaugh met with student-athletes, donors, alumni and coaches to come up with the designs seen here. These logos will go before the UT board of regents next week for consideration.

Once the regents have approved the new logo, the UTRGV athletic department will have to move fast, rebranding uniforms, signage, and most expensively, the basketball court, to be ready once the first Vaqueros sports begin play in August.
