Freezing Temperatures Pushing Into The Valley
It will feel like freezing tonight then we will truly see freezing temperatures the next night. Enough cold air is slipping south to drive temperatures into the upper 40's by midnight tonight and the upper 30's overnight toward dawn. The wind will make 39° feel closer to 24° so there is a Wind Chill Advisory in effect for the entire Valley starting at 6am Monday morning lasting through the day. Light drizzle will speckle the RGV overnight and throughout Monday. There is a slight risk of isolated bouts of sleet as the day turns to night tomorrow. The risk of rain/sleet will dwindle Monday night but falling temperatures will produce the risk of slick spots on roads, particularly bridges and overpasses, where water is left over to freeze. A Freeze Watch will be in effect from Monday night until Tuesday morning.
This is only the beginning of cold weather for the Valley with freezing, overnight, temperatures forecast again Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
