Connect With Adriana Gonzales

Adriana Gonzales joined the CBS 4 News team in September 2018 as a Newscast Director for the 6 & 10 p.m. newscasts.

Coming to us from a local news station in South Texas, she was the first female technical director of Entravision Communications. Adriana was not only responsible for directing newscasts, she also filled in as a weather broadcaster for 2 years.

Before walking across the stage as a Mass Communication Cum Laude graduate from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Adriana interned at our CBS 4 studio in 2015. Determined to work with our reporters, she was placed behind the scenes with newscast directors to see exactly what it took to make news come to life and on air. It was at that moment her perspective and passion in news took a 180 degree turn.

From wanting to be in front of the camera, Adriana realized she had a deeper desire and respect to direct newscasts and become a part of our behind-the-scenes crew.

While at UTRGV, Adriana was a member of Bronc TV where she received the Best TV Reporter award along with the Texas Interscholastic Press Association award for Best Newscast as a News Anchor. She was also a member of the Pan American Newspaper and Panorama Magazine.

“In high school, I started competing in pageants because I wanted to make a difference in my community and prove to myself that I could achieve anything I set my mind to.”

After competing in 6 different pageants from local, state to national, Adriana won 6 titles representing Teen Rio Grande Valley Beauty, Teen South Texas American Beauty, Teen Texas American Beauty, Miss Texas All Star, International Miss Texas Tourism and 2nd runner up at the Miss American Beauty Pageant. During her reign, she volunteered at South Padre Island’s Beach Clean-Up, American Diabetes Expo and adult daycare’s.

“ I’m proud to say that I am 4th generation trumpet player.

As a member of the Weslaco Panther Corps honors and marching band, she and her fellow band mates received Division 1 ratings at Pigskin Jubilee for 3 consecutive years.

“I plan to make my mark in this world and I’m just getting started.”
